We are thrilled that you’re here! Joining your Buy Nothing Community is easier than ever. The most direct way to participate in this amazing experiment with us is to join the BuyNothing App. https://www.buynothingapp.com BuyNothing App Over the past 8 years, the Buy Nothing Project has grown to over 6,085 groups on the Facebook platform but we are ready to expand to another custom platform just for Buy Nothing participants. You may note that many Facebook groups are transitioning to the app and you’ll see them marked as such in our list of groups. button If you are looking for a group hosted outside of our app, you can find your community in the list below, and click through to it. The embedded link will take you directly to a social media platform, such as Facebook. If using Facebook, you can request to join your local group by clicking on ‘Join Group’. Once you have clicked on “Join Group,” Facebook will present you with 3 questions to answer. Please answer all three questions so the group’s leader can approve your request. If you are unable to view these questions, or you have any other questions or concerns, send a message to the person named in the “About/Group Description” section of the group’s public Facebook landing page. The Buy Nothing Project asks you to join only one Buy Nothing Project group, the group where you live, so that you can literally “give where you live.” This builds resilient community connections that see people through all of life’s challenges. You can read the basic Buy Nothing Project rules here before joining so you’ll be ready to participate right away. Some groups may have added to or changed the basic rules to better serve their communities, so be sure to check this out when you’ve been welcomed into your local Buy Nothing Project group. Please know that our BuyNothing app is here for everyone to join, so you do not need Facebook or any other social media app to join.
