Update On 3.0:  Fixes for Searching, Sharing, and Tracking

Today we are pushing a software update for Buy Nothing 3.0 (iOS, Android, and Web) that resolves bugs in search, sharing, and tracking functionality.

To our Buy Nothing community: Thank you. Every time you hit that in-app Feedback button, you’re helping us build a better experience for everyone. We’ve been listening closely, and we are happy to announce that our latest web update is live, with mobile updates for iOS and Android following very shortly!

Here’s what you can look forward to in this release:

🔍 Find Exactly What (and Who) You Need

We’ve overhauled the Explore page. Our search tool is now faster and more intuitive, allowing you to search by item or person. Whether you are looking for a specific neighbor or a specific gift, you can now toggle between searching locally or globally with ease.

📋 Your Full Giving History, All in One Place

Ever wondered exactly how many items you’ve kept out of the landfill? Now you can see the full picture. Head over to your Profile page to find the "Your posts" section. This now serves as your complete inventory, including every post you’ve marked as Gifted or Ask Fulfilled. If you’ve been with us for a while, scroll all the way down to your very first post. This will show you your full tally of your Gives, Asks, and Gratitude posts. You can then see that tally in the green buttons at the top of the “Your posts” section. Click on “Gives” and you’ll only see your Gives. Click on “Asks” and those are all your Asks, etc. In an upcoming release you will not need to scroll down to your first post to get that tally. This is just a temporary workaround. 

🤝 Grow Your Private Circles

Building community just got easier. You can now use the Share Community function to generate a direct link to your private community. It’s never been simpler to invite your neighbors and friends into your local giving circle or to one that you are currently a member of.
